San Clodio, Leiro 32420, Ourense, España (Show map)It is both Hotel and Monument at the same time. It is situated in a XII Century Cistercian Monastery with a beautiful environment and two cloisters of Baroque and Renaissance style.
In the past has been inhabited by Cistercians and later Benedictine Monks.
It has been rehabilitated in 1999, supporting the beauty and original structure of the Monastery and turning into the first Hotel-Monument of Galicia.
In 928 the Counts Alvaro and Sabita founded the San Clodio Monastery. Later they yielded it to the order of San Benedictine monk, to whom they donated cattle and lands in the shore of the Avia river.

- Comentario sobre el restaurante y el mal hacer de su cocinero: Yo cené normal y bién de producto pero a mi mujer le sirvieron un plato de rape con dos trocitos minusculos de producto con una guarnicion normal de guisantes. haciendole la observación al camarero de lo sucedido para que lo comentara al chef y que tuviera el detalle de estirarse un poco en el postre de mi mujer. Pero en vez de ello, le sirvió una ración mas escasa todavía, una filloa untada de crema partida por la mitad (con 60cts. de producto infla de filloas a todo el comedor) Miserable moral, mi mujer se fué a la cama con hambre.

- notamos una diferencia de temperatura entre las habitaciones,donde estaba correcta y los pasillos de los claustros donde hacia bastante frio seria bueno tener calefacción en ese lugar para no notar esa diferencia al salir y entrar de las habitaciones el resto ha estado muy bien

- Espectacular el edificio, el emplazamiento y el entorno. Los sábados suele haber bodas. Desayuno buffet bastante completo. Restaurante deja bastante que desear en relación calidad/precio.

- Falta decoración, mejorar la profesionalidad del personal y lamentándolo mucho al ser un hotel de 4 estrellas, es inviable que la cafetería esté cerrada durante todo el día.
